On September 14, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the 2018 list of innovative projects for the deep integration of artificial intelligence and the real economy. It is understood that the project is to implement the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Three-year Action Plan for Promoting the Development of the New Generation of Artificial Intelligence Industry (2018-2020)", involving core basic products, intelligent control products, intelligent understanding products, and manufacturing Industry intelligence upgrade, industry intelligence upgrade, people's livelihood service intelligence, training resource service platform, standard testing and evaluation system, and security assurance system nine categories. Among them, 106 projects from 106 companies and institutions are on the list.
It is not difficult to find that the connection between machine tools and intelligence has become increasingly close in the past two years. Not only have many exhibitions put the words "intelligence" and "intelligent manufacturing" on the theme, many companies have also begun to add intelligent elements to their products. During this year's CCMT exhibition, Huazhong CNC, in cooperation with Baoji Machine Tool and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, put forward the concept of Intelligent Machine Tool (iMT) that integrates the Internet, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and many other advanced manufacturing technologies. On September 7, 2018, Huazhong Numerical Control also released the name INC-Cloud Huazhong Numerical Control Cloud Manager. In addition to domestic machine tool companies actively testing smart manufacturing, foreign famous companies such as DMG MORI and Siemens are also exploring ways of intelligent development in their respective fields.
At present, with the advancement of technology and the upgrading of the machine tool consumer market, machine tool intelligence is becoming the consensus of the development of machine tool companies. Due to development problems, my country's machine tool industry has been hovering in the low-end market of machine tool consumption for a long time. How to improve the level of machine tool manufacturing and do more in the high-end market has become an urgent problem for machine tool companies and even the machine tool industry. The emergence of the intelligent concept has undoubtedly given opportunities for the development of Chinese machine tools. From the perspective of various intelligent products released by major machine tool manufacturers, intelligent machine tools generally have the following characteristics.
Smart calibration. Different from the time-consuming and laborious adjustment methods of traditional machine tools, intelligent machine tools rely on technologies such as sensors and mechatronics to detect geometric errors in machining and automatically determine error compensation values. It can be found that the emergence of intelligent calibration not only greatly reduces the difficulty of operation, saves labor costs, but also improves the accuracy of processing, and makes up for accuracy errors in machine tool processing with precise perception.
IntelliSense. The intelligent perception of machine tools can be divided into two parts: the perception of the environment and the perception of processing. The perception of the environment includes the perception of temperature, the perception of force, and so on. For example, a machine tool equipped with intelligent sensing function will flexibly respond to the heat generated during processing, reducing the impact of temperature on accuracy; it can respond to unnecessary human-machine contact to avoid accidents at work. The intelligent perception of processing includes the perception of the state of the workpiece, the perception of the state of the tool, and so on. The specific performance is that it can accurately identify and grasp the size, shape, and position of the workpiece during processing; monitor the condition of the tool in real time.
Intelligent prediction and maintenance. What happens during machine tool processing and what to do if it happens? In the past, these two problems were solved by experienced machine tool masters, but now they can be solved by machine tools with intelligent prediction and maintenance functions. It is understood that the intelligent prediction of the machine tool can be used to analyze the processing status in advance by pre-reading and predicting the program. Intelligent maintenance can make flexible adjustments based on the data fed back during processing, and report them in time or optimize independently. In addition, intelligent machine tools also have the characteristics of networking, digitization, and personalization.
Recently, Deloitte China released the "2018 China Smart Manufacturing Report" after investigating more than 150 large and medium-sized production-oriented and technical service-oriented enterprises. These data show the positive effects of intelligence on the manufacturing industry.
